How to Use & Enjoy

Rinse & Soak: Wash the dal thoroughly in cold water until the water runs clear. Soak for 20 to 30 minutes to shorten cooking time and enhance digestibility.
Cook: Pressure cook or simmer in a pot with water (approx. 1:3 ratio) along with turmeric and salt until soft and tender.
Temper (Tadka): Heat ghee or oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, a pinch of asafoetida (hing), garlic, and green chillies. Pour this hot aromatic temper over the cooked dal, garnish with fresh coriander, and serve warm with steamy rice or rotis.
